A piece of furniture can be in three places at once. With the original oak chair from the award winning Chelsea Flower Show garden now in pride of place in Welcome to Yorkshire's Leeds HQ, a replica was needed to sit in the recreated garden at RHS Harlow Carr. A change of direction was decided on, a mould was taken from the original and the chair cast in concrete - twice! A mellow sand coloured version graces the garden at the RHS site, while the addition of powdered granite into the mix has produced a sparkling white version for the studio. The pleasing results of this exercise have provided inspiration for future possibilities in respect of sculptural outdoor furniture. Visitors are welcome to call in to view / discuss.
